Photodex has just announced yesterday the 2nd National Proshow Conference on their website. It will be held on Oct 25-27 at Austin, Texas.

You can view the complete details at the official conference site.

This is going to be an exciting event for all proshow users. I wish I could come, subject to US Visa availability and of course plane fair. Haha.

Sister’s Act

Last Jan 5 I had the chance to shoot a benefit concert entitled Sister’s Act at the Meralco Theatre. My wife was part of the event together with the 29AD Musicionaires. The concert was done by the Sisters of the Daughters of Charity of the Most Precious Blood for the benefit of the abandoned children of Bogo, Cebu.

A kind hearted official donated a land to the sisters but they need to raise funds for the construction of the housing. Let’s support their mission.

Proshow Producer 4.1 Just Released

Just saw this latest release from Photodex announcing the release of Proshow Producer 4.1. I see it was quite packed with several new features among them the ability to to directly upload your shows via Facebook and Vimeo and announce via Twitter. But among other things I feel the better Slide Style management would come in handy.

Keyboard Shortcuts for Proshow

Sources of Free Background Music for Your Shows

Slideshows, or any show for that matter would never be complete without an accompanying background music. Your effects can visually WOW your viewers but your music will WOW their souls.

I have to give credit to Shaz for posting this in the Proshow Enthusiasts forum. I’m reposting it here at Proshow Tips with a bit more description and a few more additions I ran into.

Incompetech – Royalty free music you can search by either genre or feel. There’s a huge collection of good scores here.

Derekaudette – A collection of royalty free / semi-copyright works by Derek Audette.

JMTR – Jonathon Roberts royalty free music with Creative Commons License

Musopen – Huge collection of public domain music you ca search by composer, performer, instrument, period or form.

Publicdomain4u – MP3 Downloads in Public Domain.

Legal Music Downloads – Large number of links to artists and bands offering music for you to download legally.

Library of Congress – The Performing Arts Encyclopedia of the Library of Congress offers a collection of music in the public domain.

Opsound Orbgettar – Haven’t tested these but there is quite a collection in this site.

Daniel Bautista – Daniel Bautista offers his works here for free download with a Creative Commons License.

Partners in Rhyme – Partners in rhyme offers not only free midi but also video loops, music and sound effects you can use in your shows.

Classic Cat – Classical catalogue, when you need classical music for your shows you can get it here.

Free Play Music – Collection of free music for personal use. Huge collection here.

Danosongs – Free weekly royalty free music by Dan O Connor. Not a very huge but still an interesting selection here.

Might have to add more in the future but as it is this is a great collection altogether.

Welcome to Proshow Tips

Hi and welcome to Proshow Tips!

I will not claim to be an expert in using proshow having used this app for only a few short months. But in that short time I have been tinkering with it, I’d say this app ROCKS!

I won’t claim as well to be an expert in slideshow creation having only used Windows Movie Maker one time in the past to create a simple slideshow.

So what the heck am I doing with Proshow and Slideshow creation, and this blog? We’ll let’s just say I’m helping my wife! LOL! She’s the expert in slideshow creation. The fact is I have to learn this for our business.

But I do enjoy photography and the post processing aspect of it. But slideshow creation, I realized, is an entirely different thing. It’s much more time consuming… but then again, when you begin to see your photos come to life, it’s an entirely different experience as well.

I’m having fun in this new discovery and I was thinking of sharing what I learn in the process. Thus this blog was born.

So here it is… Proshow Tips, Templates, Styles and Tutorials (from a total newbie…)

I hope you enjoy the simple discoveries and learnings I’ll share here.
